Words in Motion

Words in Motion at the Chan Centre at UBC

The spring air brings with it an air of cross-disciplinary co-operation and exploration. Words in Motion, presented by the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, pairs three choreographers – Olivia C. Davies, Anunsha Fernando and Paraskevas Terezakis – with a writing partner – Carmen Aguirre, Aislinn Hunter and Nancy Lee. Each piece considers the embodiment of themes from one of the writer’s recent works and is accompanied by words from those texts. Though their source material is varied, the works examine some common themes, which perhaps lend themselves equally to the two forms of expression: loss, absence and memory.

Words in Motion runs March 18th at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, Vancouver, and is featured as an event highlight in the March/April 2016 issue of The Dance Current.
