A promo video for Volcano theatre company’s multidisciplinary touring show The Four Horsemen Project recently hit YouTube. This award-winning production merges dance, theatre, sound poetry and animation to pay homage to a group of 1970s avant-garde poets, known as the Four Horsemen: Rafael Barreto-Rivera, Paul Dutton, Steve McCaffery and bpNichol. The company touts that the show “explores and explodes the notion of what poetry is: sonically, physically, visually.” The work was conceived and directed by Kate Alton and Ross Manson, and the performers are Jennifer Dahl, Naoko Murakoshi, Andrea Nann and Graham McKelvie.
