The dance training school for emerging artists Scholarship Dance is ready to set up shop in Toronto. Their successful Vancouver school has been running at Drive Dance Centre since 2009, offering a two-year program that aims “to enhance both the mental and physical skills and stamina needed to propel artists into the professional dance industry.” Auditions will be held in Vancouver on August 10th and in Toronto on August 12th.Along with diverse training and a flare for the commercial market, the program includes course work on topics such as industry standards, protocol, and business, including work experience with companies while assisting them with marketing and event planning. Dancers will also have performing opportunities with the school’s company, gaining credits in music videos, films and live venues. The school is connected with local teachers, choreographers and companies, boasting mentors from mmHoP, MOVE: the company, OTI, CMC Entertainment, Melena Dance, Kinesis Dance, Somatheatro, 605 Collective, GSG Productions and Lindsay Ritter Dance.
