Mayday Danse: Les angles morts

By Julye Huggins
Les angles morts de Mayday - Mélanie Demers

Tonight in Montréal Mayday Danse presents Les angles morts, featuring Mélanie Demers and Jacques Poulin-Denis. According to the company’s website, Demers’ choreographic vision is to call us to open our eyes in order to see the world from other angles, including our blind spots and things we would sooner ignore. To see the world and see ourselves in all our mistakes, troubles and misery, can we not be moved by a declaration of our humanity? The characters in the piece (at once victims and executioners of their own histories) seek to create new frames in which they may live with their eyes open.
