The Trocks - Meet the Dancers...

The February 2011 issue of The Dance Current print magazine includes a short interview with Tony Dobrin, artistic director of New York’s Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo. “The Trocks” are back in Toronto February 10th through 12th for more comedic renditions of classic ballets. This time their performance will include Le Lac Des Cygnes (Swan Lake, Act II), Raymonda’s Wedding (based on Petipa’s Raymonda) and Le Grande pas de Quatre (choreography after Antony Dolin). They will also be presenting a contemporary work, their version of Cunningham’s Patterns in Space In this video meet some of the dancers from this all-male ballet and contemporary troupe, and find out who they are “behind the lashes” (as one company member puts it) Also, be sure to read more to get a peek at the costume department and to see their transformation from men to ballerinas.
