4quART de La 2e Porte à Gauche

Earlier this year, March 24th through April 2nd, Danse-Cité collaborated with La 2e Porte à Gauche to present 4quART, an evening composed by four seasoned choreographers: Marie Béland, Alain Francoeur, Frédérick Gravel and Catherine Tardif. Each was given the task of cooking up a quarter of the show by using the same space, the same dancers (Sophie Corriveau, Manuel Roque, Peter Trosztmer and Lucie Vigneault) and the same artistic collaborators. While this show previously stated a warning about peanut allergies, its newest production at Agora de la danse states one for mature content. September 18th through 26th, La 2e Porte à Gauche presents Danse à 10, bringing contemporary dance to Kingdom Gentleman’s Club in Montréal. A whole batch of choreographers (Marie Béland, Nicolas Cantin, Mélanie Demers, Stéphane Gladyszewski, Frédérick Gravel, Benoît Lachambre, Jérémie Niel and Manon Oligny) have contributed to this work, which drums up and deconstructs concepts of beauty, seduction, eroticism and the objectified body. The cast includes Miriah Brennan, Francis Ducharme, Angie Cheng, Clara Furey, Ellen Furey, Peter James, Alexis Lefebvre, Simon Xavier-Lefebvre, Emmanuel Proulx, Blanche Misswhite and Miss Betty Wilde. A video preview (contains nudity) is available here.
