Création Caféine: S'envoler

By Julye Huggins
S'envoler - une création d'Estelle Clareton

Montréal choreographer Estelle Clareton opened her work S’envoler at Agora de la Danse yesterday and will continue its run through September 25th. Her cast of dancers, actors and acrobats consists of Dominic Caron, Raphael Cruz, Noémie Godin-Vigneau, Marie-Ève Lafontaine, Sylvain Lafortune, Julie Marcil, Frédéric Marier, Mathilde Monnard, Brice Noeser, Alexandre Parenteau, Esther Rousseau-Morin and Jamie Wright. This eclectic group makes up Clareton’s spirited flock of birds. From the individual challenge of first flight to the collective organization of migration, Clareton’s birds seek coordination and harmony. Restless, erratic and agitated, the clustering flock faces the fear of the unknown and discovers the courage needed for change and transformation. With wit and tenderness, Clareton weaves this metaphor of human development and relations in a world in which flying really does seem possible.
