Bill Coleman and Laurence Lemieux are the co-artistic directors of Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie, whose home is located in Toronto’s Regent Park area in a building formerly used as a dispensary of the Salvation Army. According to the company’s website, The Citadel was renovated and envisioned “as a place to research, create, learn and welcome dancers from around the world.” The space is also home to The YogaBeat, whose pay-what-you-can yoga classes by founder Felicia Ross offer this developing community a way to connect with the new space and the creative energy within. This month, Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie are on tour with a special repertoire programme of works by James Kudelka, including Fifteen Heterosexual Duets (1991), Soudain l’hiver dernier (1987) and In Paradisum (1983). The show hit Fredericton on November 16th, then headed to Halifax for a show on November 18th, and will be in Burlington on November 29th.Be sure to check out the December/January 2005/06 issue of The Dance Current print magazine for an item on Laurence Lemieux.
