2013 CanAsian International Dance Festival

Looking ahead, the 2013 CanAsian International Dance Festival is set to take place April 27th through May 12th in Toronto. This year’s programming features artists from Canada, Japan and Austria performing traditional and contemporary dance works that are inspired by Asian ideas and expressions. The lineup includes Jocelyne Montpetit Danse (Montréal), Susan Lee (Toronto), inDANCE (Toronto/Singapore), Taketeru Kudo (Tokyo) and Ziya Azazi (Vienna), as well as a film screening of The Space in Back of You about butoh artist Suzushi Hanayagi.If the whirling dervish on fire in this video doesn’t entice you, the festival also offers dance classes, photography workshops, calligraphy lessons, labyrinth walks and even a Noodle Night on Saturday.
