Anonymous: Party Hard

Anonymous: Party Hard

Here’s to a protest group that channels their activism through “partying hard.” Anonymous has several groups worldwide, taking a stance (or dance) against the presence and activities of the Church of Scientology. Among the 30 clips are people in Winnipeg, Montréal, Trois-Rivières, Chilliwack and Nova Scotia (echoing the famous dance videos of “Where the Hell is Matt?”). It’s a slight twist on Guy Fawkes’ Gunpowder Plot of 1605, but ‘tis the season: “Remember, remember the fifth of November…” “A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having!” - V (from the movie V for Vendetta) “If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be part of your revolution.” - Emma Goldman (early 20th Century anarchist)For more on speaking up through dance and socio/political activism, check out The Dance Current’s recent feature article Acts of Dance in their November issue.
