The November/December 2012 issue of The Dance Current print magazine includes an item featuring Anne Plamondon. “Currently co-artistic director of Rubberbandance Group (Victor Quijada’s Montréal-based company fusing ballet and break dance), Plamondon is also an ongoing collaborator with Crystal Pite/Kidd Pivot, and she is working on a new solo, Les mêmes yeux que toi, a work that touches on mental instability and illness; certainly not a safe or easy topic.” By Kate Stashko, The Dance Current: Print, November/December 2012.
On now, presented by Agora de la Danse in Montréal, Les mêmes yeux que toi by Anne Plamondon runs November 7 through 9. Having collaborated with actress, writer and director Marie Brassard, Plamondon embodies a collage of superimposed realities, haunting thoughts, disturbing mental states and suffering. Tackling issues that hit close to home, she brings sensitivity and vulnerability to the table. As described on the presenter’s website: “She is at times a lost man, his personality torn asunder, roiling with abnormal behaviours, spells of delirium and incoherent demeanour; at other times a foundering woman in a state of collapse for whom the line between insanity and ‘normality’ is an ever-shifting maze. She is also the fleeting memory of a mentally ill person prior to the plunge into madness.”
