By Julye Huggins
Nohayquiensepa in Bogota

Running March 13th through 27th, Aluna Theatre presents the Toronto premiere of Nohayquiensepa (No one knows). This multimedia dance-theatre piece is a requiem for the many victims of violence and massacre in Colombia, and touches on our connection and reaction to the death of strangers far from our home in Canada.According to the company’s website, the work is “inspired by events in the Colombian river town of Puerto Berrio and by reports on the activities of Canadian mining conglomerates, ” and brings together “a team of artists from Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, and Venezuela to investigate the connections between our lives here and in those places where human rights violations are common.”
