A portrait of the sacred power of the feminine in honour of International Women’s Day. These dances honour the achievements and struggles for equality of women around the world, celebrating the strength and power of the feminine.
The program will feature long-time DtDE Company members, along with acclaimed associate guest artists from Toronto. Dancers include Kate Alton, Danielle Baskerville, Bill Coleman, Michael English, Evadne Kelly, Helen Jones, Claudia Moore, Bee Pallomina, and Suzette Sherman. The music of Dmitri Shostakovich will be featured along with works by Oliver Schroer, performed by pianist Emilyn Stam, and including XIIIth Century Sepherdic Folk Music.

The 2013 season of Toronto Heritage Dance (THD), its second, assembled a stellar program of works by the pioneers of contemporary dance in Toronto, including Patricia Beatty, David Earle, Judy Jarvis and Danny Grossman, and Nenagh Leigh.
Directed by Jenna Borisevich, For a While was shot in a dance studio on 16mm. It tells a story of unrequited love through dance: a couple shares in a fantasy, but only for a moment.
