Sculpting Time is a portrait of dancers dancing, featuring selected works from a repertoire spanning fifty years of creation through David Earle’s project: Portraits, Mirrors, and Windows: A Living Retrospective. The 2013-2014 season launches this collaborative, multi-media project, unfolding through intimate reflections which weave through the upcoming season’s performance cycles, culminating in a series of mainstage performances for 2014-2015, in celebration of his 75th birthday.
The 2013 season of Toronto Heritage Dance (THD), its second, assembled a stellar program of works by the pioneers of contemporary dance in Toronto, including Patricia Beatty, David Earle, Judy Jarvis and Danny Grossman, and Nenagh Leigh.
Directed by Jenna Borisevich, For a While was shot in a dance studio on 16mm. It tells a story of unrequited love through dance: a couple shares in a fantasy, but only for a moment.
