Instinct as a source of movement

By learning and using many different kinds of dance techniques Roberto Olivan is on a constant quest for the freedom that creates new forms; refining his technique to develop a unique language which can be recognized as his own style – a language centered on speed and precision. This workshop wishes to support and to encourage loosing fear to move in a specific context. Dancers will focus on generating dance material instinctively and creatively in order to develop and discover the infinite possibilities of movement.

Catalan choreographer and dancer, Roberto Olivan began his studies at the Barcelona Theatre Institute and then moved on to P.A.R.T.S., in Brussels. He worked with Robert Wilson, Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, Josse de Pauw and Tom Jansen. In 2001 he founded his own company, Enclave Arts del Moviment, where he continues his study of movement in all its aspects. He is also founder and artistic director of the Deltebre Dansa festival in Spain. As a teacher, he is interested in the opposition of influences, using a mixture of languages, he is more interested in emotion and physicality than the intellect.
