Old And Reckless is presenting solo dance works.
Marie-Josée Chartier remounts seated woman/femme assise for Sylvie Bouchard. The work conveys the courage and fragility of the human experience, performed from the confines of a chair. The twitched, tensed, and contorted movements play on the mind’s fears, suggesting images of aging and loss of self-control.
Louse Moyes (St. John’s) performs All Zoos Everywhere based on a storyby Lisa Moore. The work features a gorilla, a child, a man and Heidegger, crossing paths one day in a zoo in Rotterdam, trying to break through that retaining wall of time and other enclosures, real or imagined.
Mi Young Kim performs Salpuri Chum, perhaps the most haunting and complicated of all Korean folk dances.
Gerry Trentham presents a new solo work, influenced by readings about the history of colour, thinking about the multiple sensory and textual meanings of “almost”, all with a focus on what the body has to say.
Chartier presents The Midnight News, a special community work for an inspiring group of bankers.
