Ballet Ouest de Montréal’s well-loved version of The Nutcracker, is making its annual round. This year, the company presents a brand new adaptation of the performance. The company’s Artistic Director, Claude Caron and his creative team drew their inspiration for the costumes and scenery from a reproduction of the sets that were designed for the ballet’s premiere performance in Saint-Petersburg in 1892. This latest version of The Nutcracker will nonetheless be rooted in modern times, thanks to multimedia projections.
