Native Girl Syndrome, a powerful choreographic work, is a entrance into the street culture. The show questions loss, alienation and addiction.
This show is neither dance nor theater: it’s life. That is why the work of Lara Kramer has a place in Free Space. Lara Kramer stands, roughly, as the portrait of homeless Aboriginal women. Inspired by the life of her grandmother, who as a young woman, emigrated from the reserve on Lac Seul, Ontario, to an urban environment. Unknown artists and performers take the audience on an odyssey that explores, without words, the bodies of two women wandering damaged in the city. They look you in the eye.
