Choreographed by Sashar Zarif, Moving Memories - Creating Living Steps Out of Ancient Traces is an intimate dance experience exploring musical Sufi and Shamanic traditions of Western and Central Asia through a contemporary lens. The two new dance solos, performed by Louis Laberge-Côté and Zarif himself, investigate and unlock the dual spirit of awakening and light through the revisiting of memories. The event also features the screening of a documentary dance film focusing on Zarif’s field work in Azerbaijan. A short presentation by Professor Elizabeth Langley will follow the show.
