In Amélie Rajotte’s La possibilité d’une tragédie, two dancers are in a garden, housed within an eight-foot round module. A SCION filters frequencies picked up by electrodes hanging from the ceiling and attached to plants and performers. The question behind is piece is, “is nature more intelligent than humans?” Performed by dancers Angie Cheng, Nelly-Ève Rajotte, and Jessica Serli. In Aliah Schwartz and Guillaume Loslier-Pinard’s No Need For Blue Jeans Here, recycled objects make up the performance’s landscape: a car tent, rocks, dead potted plants, dirt, a hose, a toolbox. The piece works to portray two people creating an ecosystem with different life cycles as they exploit both natural elements and synthetic objects that will take hundreds of years to decompose. Performed by Guillaume Loslier-Pinard, Aliah Schwartz.
