The thirty-fourth annual ‘Champion of Champions’ powwow is a celebration of the music, dance, food and arts & crafts of First Nations people throughout North America. Presented by the Grand River ‘Champion of Champions’ Powwow Committee, a group of highly motivated, community spirited volunteers who have for the past three decades, staged and organized, on behalf of the Six Nations of the Grand River, a Aboriginal Multicultural event, annually the fourth weekend of July. Highlights include the Powwow Dance Competition, singing contest for drum groups, over 400 powwow dancers, over 100 native craft vendors, over thrity native craft booths and bus tours are welcome.
Feature writer Karen J. Pheasant-Neganigwane will be in attendance with the July/August 2013 magazine and so will cover photographer Irina Popova.
