Benoît Lachambre and his collaborators mine bodily experience and sense perception to create interdisciplinary performance. Currently, Lachambre is working on two new projects, which will premiere this season: a duet, Is you me, for himself and Montréal-based dance artist Louise Lecavalier, and Body Scan, a group work created in collaboration with Vancouver’s Lee Su-Feh for six dancers, including he and Lee.

“I think in the past I was seeing the company as a kind of showcase for the marvellous choreographers we were finding from here and afar, and now … it’s more of an incubation place,” says Montréal Danse artistic director Kathy Casey. In her role, Casey focusses on facilitating choreographers’ creative investigations.
Roberto Campanella established the Toronto-based contemporary ballet company ProArteDanza in 2004; however, he hands the credit for founding the organization to his wife, Joanna Ivey. In fact, she’s the reason he left Italy for Canada in the first place.
