Lindsay Zier-Vogel* [guest writer] is a writer and arts educator. Her choreography has been performed in Ontario and BC and her writing has been featured in numerous Canadian magazines and literary publications. She holds an MA in English and creative writing and is the founding editor of Puddle Press. She is currently finishing a novel about Dora Mavor Moore.

In a co-production by DanceWorks CoWorks Series and dance: made in Canada/fait au Canada (d:mic/fac), presenter Yvonne Ng brought together Toronto’s Andrea Nann and Quebec City’s Lydia Wagerer in an intimate evening of choreography, entitled “INKCrossfade2AIR”, that explores both grace and intimacy in their extremities. In all three pieces, the audience witnesses the process of engaged transformation.

In the first program of the 2004 Dancemakers Presents season, Toronto-based artists Susie Burpee and Lesandra Dodson premiered their respective new works “The Countess of Main Events” and “In Silence” from September 30th through October 2nd. Together these works created a physically powerful evening of dance that explored the intimate matters of love, loss and madness.

Parks Full of Dance

Neither the dark sky, nor the wet grass deterred the formidable crowd from coming out on the evening of July 11th, to enjoy the first park on Corpus two-park Dusk Dances festival. This year marks producers David Danzon and Sylvie Bouchards ninth event. Since its inception, Dusk Dances has become a summer-time institution
