This winter, Toronto Dance Theatre presents an invigorating evening of dance designed to warm the heart and spark the intellect.
The January double-bill - running January 24th to February 2nd, 2019 - pairs Slow Dance, a performance installation by choreographer/visual artist Marie Lambin-Gagnon with Jeanine Durning’s engaging tour de force This Shape, We Are In at the Winchester Street Theatre in Toronto.
About the Performances
A performance installation by choreographer/visual artist Marie Lambin-Gagnon, Slow Dance is a conversation between dancers, objects and environment, celebrating the intimacy and strength present in all things.
Jeanine Durning is a generous, uncompromising creator whose body of work is in equal parts challenging, delightful and completely absorbing. Her tour de force This Shape, We Are In, originally created for TDT’s New York/Toronto Project in 2016, returns in a new evening length version that, in Durning’s words, “questions time and place and meaning and fate and togetherness.”
