An Electric Bolt of Messy

Helen Simard’s Requiem Pop By Philip Szporer

Helen Simard explores the life and work of music icon Iggy Pop in her newest creation called Requiem Pop, which tackles the notions of hero worship, fandom and the cultural icons we don’t know but love. The work unleashes an electric bolt of messy, self-destructive Iggy chaos onto the stage.

Navigating the Voyage

Lucie Grégoire’s Territoires By Philip Szporer

In many ways Lucie Grégoire’s new work, Territoires, is like an elusive secret. She notes that this piece is drawn from previous works and new material – a revisiting of her creative bank of work.

15 X LA NUIT - OFF-FTA Circuit-Est 2015

Existential Reflections

Nous (ne) sommes (pas) tous des danseurs by Katya Montaignac and Sophie Corriveau By Philip Szporer Nous (ne) somme (pas) tous des danseurs.

Katya Montaignac teams with Sophie Corriveau, artist-in-residence at the Agora de la danse, for a round table event. Artists involved included a veritable who’s who, mainly drawn from Montréal’s deep pool of dance talent.

Nous (ne) sommes (pas) tous des danseurs.

A dance about dancers: this is the idea behind a new artistic proposal by performer, instructor and coach Sophie Corriveau in collaboration with interpreter and dramaturge Katya Montaignac.

La Démarquise

Louise Bédard Danse By Mark Mann La Démarquise

Rite of Spring makes an appearance in Louise Bédard’s new work La Démarquise. It’s a small reference, delivered with a wink about a quarter of the way through the 110-minute performance – one of a handful of references to canonical works of art woven into this show.
