League of Exotique Dancers

Award-winning director Rama Rau’s documentary League of Exotique Dancers explores the golden era of burlesque through the personal lives and stories of legendary performers. The documentary offers a “backstage tour” that exposes the sexism, racism and widespread stigma faced by burlesque striptease performers and the wide array of working women in that tumultuous era.

League of Exotique Dancers premieres on April 28 at Bloor Hot Docs Cinema as part of Hot Docs: Canadian International Documentary Festival held in Toronto.
