Foutrement

A trio of infidelity

Foutrement was the second piece Montréal-based choreographer Virginie Brunelle created after founding her company in 2009. It uses aspects of classical ballet, such as the use of pointe shoes, to explore infidelity, love, seduction, temptation and the the weight of love’s disillusionment.

Brunelle met dance relatively late in life. She was twenty when she took her first dance class and later graduated from l’Université du Québec à Montréal. Her company, Compagnie Virginie Brunelle, makes its West Coast premiere March 3-5 at this year’s Vancouver International Dance Festival
