Dulcinea Langfelder & Cie: La Complainte de Dulcinée

By Julye Huggins

Tonight Dulcinea Langfelder performs the comical La Complainte de Dulcinée as part of the 8th annual Quartier Danses, a contemporary art event organized by Transatlantique Montréal. First performed in 2008, La Complainte de Dulcinée is inspired by the novel Don Quixote, but according to the festival’s website, “the roles are reversed; Don Quixote becomes Dulcinea’s muse, watching from the wings as our heroine attempts to rescue herself – from a history that has given her a questionable rap… and a lot to mull over.”Be sure to catch more of La Complainte de Dulcinée when in tours Québec in March and April 2011.
