Dancing on the Chandelier

Australian singer-songwriter Sia, who has written songs for artists such as Madonna, Brittany Spears and Rihanna, is inching her way back into the industry. Facing personal problems from the pressure of being in the spotlight, Sia took a three-year break from making her own music but has since come back with a new album and a contract that allows her to stay away from the cameras. The first track on 1000 Forms of Fear, which is set to be released in July, is a powerful song titled Chandelier. In the video, Maddie Ziegler of the reality television show Dance Moms portrays a younger version of Sia (short blonde wig and all). Eleven-year-old Ziegler dances with seeming abandon and yet she is in total control of the quirky choreography masterminded by Sia and artist/choreographer Ryan Heffington.

The video for Chandelier was recreated on the Ellen Degeneres Show, with Ziegler performing the routine while Sia sang facing the back wall of the studio.
