By Julye Huggins

Tomorrow at Toronto’s Isabel Bader Theatre, The Rhythm of the Nile Dance Company will present Ayyam Zaman: The Golden Era of Egyptian Belly Dance. Directed by Nada El Masriya and Abigail Derbecker of Hannan’s Belly Dance Studio, the show honours three seminal belly dancers during the 1930s and 1940s: Taheya Carioca, Samia Gamal, and Badia Masabni. The performance also features live accompaniment by The Traditional Arabic Music Ensemble, directed by Dr George Sawa, and narration by guest artist Roula Said.
