A new generation of Québec dance-makers will launch Tangente’s season with an evening of performance. A jury composed of Claudia Chan Tak, Camille Lacelle-Wilsey, Sébastien Provencher, Jessica Serli and Nathan Yaffe selected six young local artists among twenty-four candidates. This annual program offers these artists the opportunity to present their work in a professional environment, often for the first time. Tangente also accompanies them as they experience the entire process of producing, mounting and presenting their performance. Each artist benefits from a creative residency in partnership with José Navas/Compagnie Flak. Alice Blanchet-Gavouyère presents Flammèches with dancers Maude Archambault-Wakil, Penélope Desjardins and collaborator Jacob Cooper. Jean Bui and Sydney McManus present 1, 2, maybe 3. Marika D. Lafond presents and performs Hystérie with dancers Marie-Denise Bettez, Mattew Heli Brunel, and Ariane Demers. Pénélope Gromko presents a solo titled Mes désirs sont désordres with collaborators Emmanuelle Bourassa-Beaudoin and Isabelle Poirier. Audrée Juteau presents Poneyboyz featuring dancers Guillaume Danielewski and David Emmanuel Jauniaux. Alejandro Sajgalik presents a solo work, N’importe où hors du monde with collaborator Nate Yaffe.
