Remembering David Zurak

Dancer, choreographer, teacher and member of the Martha Graham Dance Company David Zurak died in New York on March 9, 2017, after a two-year battle with brain cancer.

CCDT Soars in New York City

On October 24, Toronto youth dance company Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre (CCDT) performed José Limon’s The Winged at an international festival in his honour presented as part of the Limón Dance Company’s seventieth anniversary season. CCDT’s dancers were the youngest to perform at the festival, further cementing the connection between the company and Limón’s legacy.

Passe-Partout is “a new app that explores dance for the digital tablet,” allowing users to mix and match choreography and watch their work on the screen.

#TBT to Cissy & Bobby on the Lawrence Welk Show

Famous American dancers Cissy King and Bobby Burgess are seen here in this 1975 episode of The Lawrence Welk Show, demonstrating the Charleston, the jitterbug and the “new rock ‘n’ roll dances” of the 1960s and 1970s.
