A Dance Preservation Imperative By Mary Jane Warner

Why is dance considered the poor relation among the arts? In part, this is because dance’s history is mostly invisible. Without tangible “artifacts”, dance has a few reference points to mark its evolution and development. Individuals involved in preservation and documentation are motivated to change this.
