Existential Reflections

Nous (ne) sommes (pas) tous des danseurs by Katya Montaignac and Sophie Corriveau By Philip Szporer Nous (ne) somme (pas) tous des danseurs.

Katya Montaignac teams with Sophie Corriveau, artist-in-residence at the Agora de la danse, for a round table event. Artists involved included a veritable who’s who, mainly drawn from Montréal’s deep pool of dance talent.

Nous (ne) sommes (pas) tous des danseurs.

A dance about dancers: this is the idea behind a new artistic proposal by performer, instructor and coach Sophie Corriveau in collaboration with interpreter and dramaturge Katya Montaignac.

La Démarquise

Louise Bédard Danse By Mark Mann La Démarquise

Rite of Spring makes an appearance in Louise Bédard’s new work La Démarquise. It’s a small reference, delivered with a wink about a quarter of the way through the 110-minute performance – one of a handful of references to canonical works of art woven into this show.

INDEEP

Montréal artists commit to ten hours straight of exploration between choreography, visual art and cinematography.

Van Grimde Corps Secrets

Symphonie 5.1 By Philip Szporer Symphonie 5.1

Multimedia experimentation is the driving force behind Symphonie 5.1, a platform for applying video projections as a light source, working to reveal dancers’ bodies, or a sense of them, rather than showing other pre-recorded images alongside them.

An Expanding Discussion: Copyright and Heritage in Dance

On October 2, 2015, lawyers, arts advocates and performing arts professionals gathered at the dance pavilion of the University of Québec in Montréal for a focus day on copyright and dance heritage, hosted by the Fondation Jean-Pierre Perreault, to discuss a wide range of pertinent legal and ethical questions surrounding dance creation and ownership.
